Woah

I’ve reblogged this before but I didn’t know it was from a lightning strike. That’s insane.

Dystopia - Human = Garbage (Full Album)

So I’m gonna share some wonderful music with y’all.

Human=Garbage is within the top ten of my absolute most favorite albums of all time. A beautiful mix of crushing sludge and gritty crust, this album will get inside your head and fuck your mind raw. The opening track, Stress Builds Character, begins with a memorizing bass track and a startlingly emotional speech by the bands lead vocalist, Dino Sommese, all building up towards a fast paced crusty song that hits you like a freight truck.

From then on you’ll be hooked. The rest of the album alternates between slow, emotionally jarring and brutal sociopolitical tracks. Slow, tuned down guitars give the album a thick, heavy sound, while the bass is loud and at times very funky. The drums aren’t anything special, probably because Dino is too busy delivering some of the most emotional and real sounding screams I’ve ever heard. Besides Dino’s highs, there are raspy shouting vocals and more death metal-ish lows sprinkled throughout. Samples are used throughout, and are the center of songs like Sanctity and Love/Hate, some of the more creepy tracks.

I absolutely recommend this, its a life-changing record. I suggest starting it alone in a dark room with headphones in, as I did when I first heard it. It helps you really feel the depression and frustration in the opening track.

Overall: 10/10

Strong Tracks: Stress Builds Character, Hands that Mold, Weed of Wisdom, Slaved Chains, Sanctity

Weaker Tracks: The Middle, Green Destroyed
